Only at Columbus...make the trip it's absolutely worth it!
All kinds and shapes of Italian breads and pizza dough. Next door sandwich shop. Great selection all great.
Sorry, no
Italian
2.50 and it's the best bread ever.
Best bread anywhere.
best bread in Suracuse
Best bakery. I have always said, Christ said man can not live on bread alone. Well, he didnt have Columbus.
Here you can get the best Italian bread ever!
The best bread in the Cuse. I have been going here forever it seems. A basic lovely hot loaf of fresh bread. No complaints here.😊
Still the best bread in Syracuse. Made it even better by getting a Meatball Heal!
The best bakery and real Italian bread you'll ever taste. I always stop here when passing through Syracuse. I prefer the loaves over the flats but only because I'm usually eating in the car while driving. Loaves are $2.50 but worth about 10x.
Best Italian Bread in the city. And right next door, they sell meatballs and sauce. You can make a great covered meatball sandwich. Sooooo good. I wish they took debit/credit cards though. I don’t carry a lot of cash on me . I would go more often if they did.SO GLAD TO HEAR THEY WILL BE ACCEPTING DEBIT AND CREDIT CARDS SOON. I WILL BE BACK!!!!!! And so will my two sons and their FAMILIES. Thank you
Best bread in the US.
First time and wish I could take it back. Ordered a whole panini, reiterated "whole" twice when the guy asked me 30 seconds apart what size I wanted. Well I am honestly thrilled I didn't get a whole. I specifically chose the T.P.L.T panini because it advertised having crisped prosciutto and spicy tomato oil on the side. No prosciutto. Warm nasty strings of lettuce. And the worst part is that they had the audacity to mix horseradish in with the tomato oil and completely ruin it. I literally said inside "I hate horseradish". You'd think they would tell me so I wasn't gagging when I went to dip my less than mediocre sandwich into it. Gross.
What a wonderful place. A family bakery where you see the pride and love they put into their homemade bread that can't be found Anywhere but there. Wow
Grandparents lived in Syracuse 50 years ago. After visiting from NJ 3 or 4 times per year it was an absolute must to stop at Columbus Bakery for several loaves of bread, including one pull-apart loaf, then off to Liehs and Steigerwald on Grant Ave for a ring of bologna. My mom kept a knife in her purse and we ate like kings on the ride home - no mustard, no mayo, just the best bread and the best bologna in the east. Thanks for great food and memories. Would love to get a t-shirt but can’t seem to access website...
The best bread around.. it's a tradition
The bread is crusty and delicious! Make sure to get an extra loaf to eat in the car.
I doubt I even have to say it, but if you have not been here for fresh bread, GET THERE RIGHT NOW. I have been a loyal customer for YEARS...moved ro Florida for ten years and actually CRIED the first time I bought fresh Italian bread and pizza dough in Sarasota. It was ALWAYS my first stop every single time I flew north for a visit. Simple fast, delicious, a staple for every family's Italian or every day meals. Staff is PHENOMENAL...the same cute Greek man has been waiting on me for 25 years, and I hope he does for the next 25!! Pizza dough is PERFECTION, makes the best pizza crust, calzone, stromboli, you name it. Try the flat and point loaf too, always warm out of the oven, best you'll ever have!!
low prices. simple ingredients. old fashion bread making that wont get old
Great service and sandwiches.
Great meatball sub, in the heel. Which is half a loaf italian bread, cut out and sauce, cheese and plenty of big meatballs poured inside. Great dinner for 2 and inexpensive.
It's iconic. We all know it's iconic. This meatball heel gives me life. The bread? Fabulous. Great for breadcrumbs too.
Before heading to the airport it's a must stop to take back to SoCal. When I DO get home, I vacuum seal and freeze the other loafs just so they last longer. Just once I'd like to see the cashier without her earbuds in.....lol
Meatball heel will change your life. Bread is ancient and divine.
Grew up eating this awesome bread! We stop by every time were in town to load up. Go nextdoor to the deli for a meatball heel. But dont tell mom!
We bought a loaf of freshly baked bread. Well, as soon it made the car, the bread was broken and yum. Warm bread straight from the oven. OMG. We're lucky to have any left to take home.
Best warm and fresh bread in Syracuse!
THE BEST
Been coming here since I was a boy. They still have some of the best bread in the world, certainly the best in Central New York!
As always thank you for your excellent bread!
I used to live in Syracuse 30 years ago and still crave Columbus bakery bread. The smell from the street is pure heaven and the bread is the best I've ever tasted. I'd make a trip back to Syracuse just to get it! You will not be disappointed and will forever remember the taste and smell of this fantastic Italian bread.
Bread is as fresh as it can get
One of best in town love there donuts
Delicious warm bread. Best eaten warm, right out of the bag, as soon as you get it! Delicious when you reach your destination as well, if you can wait that long
The italian bread is second to none in the Syracuse area
Best Italian bread in Syracuse and beyond. Can eat it plain- no butter or jelly or anything else needed - that's when you know it's delicious. Authentic wall brick ovens. Go while the bread is baking; the aroma is out of this world.
Moved out of cuse and can still smell this place in my dreams.
The smell alone will drive you crazy...it smells so good. Went to pick up sauce and meatballs. Have not had them before so anxious to try. Service was excellent. Quick and efficient. I'll post more once I try these meatballs and sauce with their Italian bread 😋Update on the meatballs and sauce....DELISH. Had some of the meatballs as an open face sandwich on the Italian bread w/ their sliced provolone cheese on top. Then had the remaining meatballs in spaghetti. So good. The meatballs had a little spice to them but not too much. The sauce was a bit chunky for me so I just took my immersion blender and made it smooth. Same great taste. Highly recommend this place. Next is to try their sandwiches.
Love this bread. It is now international as i bring it to my family in ontario
I've only had the bread, but I would imagine most of their products are of similar quality. The bread was outdated and overpriced. Think the bread that you get at a cheap Italian restaurant that hasn't changed it menu since the 70s. If you want good bread in Syracuse, go to pastas daily on Franklin st
Omg amazing, sadley I have not been in years but great bread
Sounds fancy, but this hole in the wall is no gem. Restaurant isn't clean, food isn't handled professionally. They wrap your food in tin foil and hand it to you in a grocery store plastic bag.... cheeses, meats, everything sitting out on the warm counter together. Health code violation waiting to happen.
The best fresh-made bread in Syracuse
Like others before me two loaves, one for home and one for the ride. This was my first visit and when I out a piece of torn off bread it was both inelegant and an explosion of pure ecstasy. The dough so soft and the salt was what my body had been missing, and I don't think it was a simply because I had had no food or liquid since early in AM due to hospital tests. No this bread would have tasted like ambrosia even had I sated all hunger moments before. It's good stuff, eat more and lots.
Felt like I was in Italy buying my morning loaf again Hot bread perfumes your car. Tiny inner city non-descript store front. Opens at 8 am but the meat and cheese next store does not open until 9 am. Wonderful bread. One of the main things not to miss in Syracuse.
Whenever I'm in Syracuse I have to stop here best bread you're going to get.
This place will transport you back in time when you step inside. So unique and best of all the bread is 🔥🔥🔥! Great pricing and if you like a little crunch to your bread say for some chili then get the twice baked! You can thank me later.
Grew up on Columbus Bakery bread! Love its ol’ fashion set up and recipe! No bread compares, not even close!
Holy moly, best sandwich ever, come hungry!
Traditional brick oven Italian Bread at it's best. Very little has changed in the last 50 years. The price has gone up at an acceptable rate. They have added a few new shapes, but other than that it's still fresh baked bread from the oven, to the counter, to the customer. The biggest challenge continues to be getting the loaf home without ripping it open especially when it's warm.
First time venturing into the sandwich shop there. Was not impressed. Went with 2 co-workers and all 3 of us vowed never to go back. Very dingy, poor food quality and bad advertising. Stating certain things came on sandwiches, never to be found. Just a bad overall experience. Would not recommend. Stay away.
Just went for the first time and the bread was exceptional. No frills to this place. You walk in (cash only) and all you can see is the bread for sale on racks and the fleet of workers loading bread into the ovens. Only two bread choices when I went, but the place was packed and they were selling bread as fast as they could put them in bags. Would definately go again.
Wonderful bread and friendly staff!
